WebCD Globe Compact Disc Options

Access this dialog by selecting Options from the Build menu and then clicking the Compact Disc tab.

Information

Displays information about the compact disc in your CD recorder.

Disc Size

Set the disc size to the size of recordable CD you are using. The most common size is 74 minutes. Factory-recorded CDs can hold up to 74 minutes of data.

74 minutes (120 mm) - equal to 650 megabytes of data

63 minutes (120 mm) - equal to 553 megabytes of data

21 minutes (80 mm) - equal to 184 megabytes of data

Disc Type

Displays one of the following values, automatically determined based on the CD in your CD recorder:

Value Meaning
Blank Disc Unused disc
CD-ROM or Digital Audio Disc Mode 1, Mode 2, or Audio tracks
CD-I Disc Mode 2 Form1 or 2 tracks with CD-Interactive applications
CD-ROM-XA Disc Extended architecture of CD-ROM. Mode 2 Form1 or 2 and Audio tracks
Unknown Unrecognized

Sessions

Number of sessions found on the disc. This value is always one larger than the number of recorded sessions on the disc. So, if one session has been recorded and closed, but the disc is not closed, the number of sessions equals two (2).

Tracks

Number of tracks found on the disc.

Recordability

Reports the recordability of the compact disc as either Gold Recordable or Not Recordable. If the disc is reported as Not Recordable, possible reasons are: the disc is corrupted, the disc is closed, or the disc is a non-recordable disc.

Free Space

Amount of free space on the disc.

Total Space

Total amount of space on the disc.

Loading Options

The loading options allow for creation of a multisession disc (a disc containing the results of more than one recording session). A multisession disc can be created as long as the disc is not closed.

Refresh

Refresh the display after inserting a new compact disc.

Tray

Controls the tray on your CD recorder. Click once to eject the tray; click again to insert. If your CD recorder has a caddy, the Tray button can be used to eject, but not to insert the CD caddy.

Track Info

Displays the Track Information Dialog box with information about existing sessions and tracks on the CD currently in the CD recorder. This button is only available if there is a CD in the CD recorder and the CD has been previously recorded. If the CD is blank (Disc Type=Blank Disc), this button will be grayed.
